New webmaster…Susan Kercher

Traveling Supremes,

John Laninga, has decided to take a break from the job of Traveling Supreme webmaster! On behalf of the Traveling Supremes, and as former President of the club, I would like to thank John for getting our web set up and posting all of our rallies, meetings and information pertaining to the Traveling Supremes! I also want to thank John for the great instructions he provided me and I’m hoping to not bother him too much!

I have volunteered to try and carry on in John’s very large footsteps! Please be patient with me and I welcome comments and suggestions! This is my first “test post” so wish me luck!

I decided I needed to try and insert a picture, so here I am in Colorado in the Rio Grande Forest, near the historic 1880 Train Depot with some of the Traveling Supremes for lunch at the Depot September 4, 2020!

Ted and I left Alabama last Friday afternoon. We spent that night in Mississippi and then two nights in West Monroe, Louisiana at our friends’ (Polk and Linda) home on their RV pad! On Monday we arrived in Onalaska, Texas with 12 other Traveling Supreme rigs! On Monday we had a group dinner, Tuesday we had lunch at Manny’s Shrimp Boat and then went to a very cool rock shop! Wednesday we had a member give a really interesting presentation on metal detecting, along with a boat ride on a pontoon boat for all interested members and another great meal fixed by our hosts! Today we headed to a Texas prison museum. It was very interesting and there are pictures of the great things the prisoners are capable of making.

Next stop was lunch at the Farmhouse Cafe! They have yummy dinner rolls and cornbread. Ted and I had salads and shared banana pudding pie! From there we went to the Sam Houston Museum. Our tour guide had tons of amusing anecdotes. A fun day, followed by a light supper at the clubhouse! Tomorrow we all head out for other adventures! Thank you Deanne and David Phillips, our great wagon masters!

Social Media

Today we are adding our Face Book Page to the blog.  So any post here will also be shown on our Face Book page.  So the first benefit of this is that any blog is now publicly available.  But more importantly, if you become a Friend on Face Book, you can also post on it!  So now you can alert people to places you’ve been, sights you’ve seen, and in general keep up to date with all members of the TS FB page.

So if you go to the TS Face Boo page ask to be a Friend and you will be connected real time to everyone else who is friends.  You will be able to let everyone know about special places to stay, where  not to go, whatever you think is important.

Think of this as sitting around a virtual fire sharing stories with your TS friends!  Give us a few days to fully implement this new feature, but we thought you may want to know.  You can reach the site at TS Face Book.
