We are returning to Quartzsite Arizona in 2021. This will be a tag along with no agenda other than fun! We are staying at Black Rock RV Village in Brenda, AZ, some 12 miles East of Quartzsite. Check in Jan. 16th and check out Jan. 25, 2021. Call 928-927-4206 and talk to Kelly. She said to tell her to put you close to the Hoovers. Be sure to ask her to explain the cancellation policys. Traveling Supreme members Jo Marr and Myrna Braley both had surgeries this past week and both are recuperating and doing well! Let’s all keep them in our thoughts and wish them continued rapid recovery.

Hello Supremes, we have a time and place for our annual New Year’s gathering! We will be at the Colfax Recreation Area RV park and Campground. The dates are: check in – Dec. 28th and check out – Jan. 2nd 2021. Call the park at 318-627-2640 and talk to Nolan. As always, be sure to tell them that you are with the Traveling Supremes. The good news is that they honor the National Park senior pass known as Golden age or America the Beautiful Senior pass. Full price is $35.34 per night and $17.67 with the senior pass. Jim has reserved sites and they were placed on his credit card so if you are planning on going, please call early and secure your site. Many of us camp there several times throughout the year and enjoy the building which faces the Red River. The town is small but close to Natchitoches and Alexandria. Plans are being made to secure a tour of the Locks and Dam located behind the park and for the Kent House located in Alexandria. I’m looking at a few other options in the area so we hope to have some fun with our special New Year’s Day meal.

Traveling Supreme Natchitoches Rally, Oct. 29, 2020 – Today was the last day of the rally in this historic town. Our excursion today was to Robeline to tour the remaining house of Fort Jesuplocated about 22 miles from Natchitoches. It was constructed in 1822 to protect the United States border with New Spain and return order to the Neutral Strip. The fort was in operation until 1846 and the US continued control of the abandoned fort site until the privatization of the site in 1869.
After the tour and lunch on our own, we met with Bud and Rosalyn Odom at the meeting room. They were on their way home from Houston.

Today at the Business Meeting Rally in Natchitoches, LA, at the Nakatosh RV Park we had a quiet day with a club sponsored meal of Bar-B-Que and had a general business meeting conducted by our president Susan Kercher. The theme for the day was “Patriotism” and the room was decorated with red, white and blue and we were to wear red, white or blue clothing.
Those attending were: President Susan and Ted Kercher, Wagon Master Jim and Tina Hoover, Paul and Tandy Krugler, Michael and Patti Hutton with mom, Nellie, Pete and Mary Minnix, Les and Ida Cook, Burnel and Marie Moreaux, Guest of Jim and Tina, Steve Merrimen and Polk and myself, Linda Brian. We sang along to two songs, one led by Tina Hoover and one by Polk Brian and Mary Minnix and Linda Brian was presented a plaque for serving as the editor and publisher of the newsletter for 15 years.
Natchitoches TS Business Meeting held at Nakatosh RV – We have 9 rigs here but had about five that had to back out due to many different problems, health, rig damage and repair needs. Those attending are: Host and President Susan and Ted Kercher, Wagon Master Jim and Tina Hoover, Paul and Tandy Krugler, Michael and Patti Hutton with mom, Nellie, Pete and Mary Minnix, Les and Ida Cook, Burnel and Marie Moreaux, Guest of Jim and Tina, Steve Merrimen and Polk and myself, Linda Brian.
We arrived to the park Monday afternoon, Monday, October 26 and had our “meet and greet” time in front of Susan and Ted’s motorhome. In our host packets, we had patriotic masks and info about the area. Monday was both Ida and Marie’s birthday and Susan had treats for them and individual muffins to celebrate their birthday. Jim discussed about the need to find a good park for the New Year’s rally. Most of the parks have closed their meeting rooms due to COVID virus. He also said he had a few more caps if anyone is interested.
Tuesday morning we left at nine to go to Hemphill, Texas, to tour the NASA Space Museum. It is a small museum but worth the stop if you are in the area. The 15 minute film prior to the tour was emotional and informative. That afternoon was open for scouting around Natchitoches or resting. Some took advantage of both while the Executive Committee had a quick meeting but no voting due to the lack of a quorum.

Come one, come all! We would love to see you all in Natchitoches, Louisiana for our annual meeting and on Wednesday at the business meeting, please wear you best red, white and blue in celebration of our country! Let’s end this crazy and sad 2020 year on a high note for our club! This will be more of a tag-along so that we can all do as much or as little as you feel is safe in the scary times of the pandemic!
October 26th: Arrival 5:00. Meet and Greet to get welcome packets and say hello to friends! We will be safely distanced…details to follow!
October 27th: Tag-along to the Columbia Space Shuttle Museum 10-11:30 ($5.00 fee). Those interested in lunch at a restaurant will be on their own but info on restaurants will be in packets provided! Afternoon will be on your own!
October 28th: 12:00 Delicious lunch catered and provided by our club…details to follow! Followed by Business Meeting (no sleeping allowed lol)!
October 29th: Tag-along to Fort Jesup State Historic site, a Mexican-American War Era Fort! (Free for seniors 62+). Afternoon on your own!
October 30th: Departure!
