Quartzite Tag-a-long

By Susan Kercher

Jim and Tina Hoover’s Quartzsite tag-a-long came to an end after nine nights of fun and cameradery. Louis and Leona Keyser, Paul and Tandy Krugler, Pete and Mary Minnix and Ted and myself rounded out the members. We also brought guests Warren and Joyce Blakely into the tag-a-long for the week.

The RV Show was the big draw to Quartzite and we all attended the show numerous times (thankful for the shuttle) as we learned of something new someone else had found or after thinking over what we had seen. Most of us also took the opportunity to look at new and used RV’s for sale. I thought a couple of people were close to making a purchase! But alas, no one walked away with a new RV!

The group took advantage of the campground cafe being open this year! Reviews were mixed on the food but overall everyone seemed to enjoy. We also had lunch in town and dinner at the local Mexican restaurant. Saturday night we invited some friends of ours to the campground for dinner at the Cafe with the group. We had met them in Fresno and they are full time RVer’s. They were boon-docking for the week and it was interesting to hear about their experience.

We ended most days with a nice campground fire…thank you Jim and Tina! We had lots of stories and laughs and I think Tina managed to get a few campground card games going. In my opinion…a good time was had by all!

Housekeeping

This blog is primarily to update a few items on the web site. These include:

  • The yard sign order form has been revised,
  • Completed 2019 rallies moved to history,
  • A few minor spelling and word changes.

Also, the web site has a For Sale section, a RV Tips section, and a Recipes section which see little or no use. I plan to remove these in the next update unless someone really wants to keep them here. Let me know….

Happy 2020!

January 1, 2020. A new year and decade begins. The Traveling Supremes wish all of you the very best for the next time period.

We slept in this morning, then met for another fabulous meal. No one can cook better than the TS family. And no one can eat any better! So most of us were there for one last chance to raise our calorie count. Some left early (hope you’re feeling better Linda), some immediately after, and some are still here for a while. Regardless, we wish you all safe traveling and good health. Look forward to seeing you in Quartzite or Elephant Butte or..

New Years Eve

The day started with an early breakfast of pancakes and sausages, cooked by “the guys” . It was tasty, but no pictures… who wants to have their pictures taken at 7AM?

The RV Park puts on a New Years Party, and most TS members attended. The evening consisted of a buffet, followed by song and dance. In fact, the TS group did well: Barbara Smith won the Twisting contest, James and Gail won the slow dance contest, and Ida Cook won the raffle for a free night at the park.

As the evening progressed we got more involved. Many of us danced or sang along with music of the 50’s, 60’s and 70’s. All in all, a very pleasant start of a new year (and decade). May it be good for all our friends and family.
