Memphis changes, part 2

As the rains continue all over the country, there has been an update on the National Weather Service river forecast. They are now showing the river will not recede below the 31 foot mark until the 27th, which is not going to allow the park time to do any cleanup for our rally. This information was sent to me by Michael and Patti Hutton who have been following TS posts and would like to join us at the Memphis rally! Thank you Michael and Patti and we look forward to meeting you both.

Ted and I have decided to delay the rally until April 8, 2019 and hopefully this will give the river time to recede and Tom Sawyer’s time to clean up! The NEW GATHERING DATES ARE: Arrive Monday April 8 and depart on Saturday April 13. Those that can make these new dates and would like to join us, please let me know by text 619-972-6471 or email susankercher@aol.com.

Some of the things we are planning besides watching the barges go up and down the are: Memphis Rock and Soul Museum ($11 for adults).

There are several other museums we may want to think about, such as the Pink Palace or Civil War Museum. Dixon Gallery and Gardens ($7 for adults) and the Cherry Cafe. Multiple gardens with classical sculptures and world class paintings inside.

Peabody Hotel to watch the duck walk! Not joking…live ducks! Graceland for those that haven’t been.

Thanks for your patience,

Tes and Susan Kercher
