The TS Business Rally will be in Ruston, Louisiana, the last week in September. Don’t let the title of the rally fool you into not coming thinking we are just going to have a business meeting. This is the rally previously hosted by our sponsor but now is hosted by the club and the executive committee and required by our By-Laws. This rally helps to keep the attending membership informed about our club. During this rally we usually announce the officers for the upcoming year but that too has changed since officers are being elected for a two year term. Plans are being made to have several tours including to West Monroe. Some will be to familiar locations of museums, historical sites, etc., but we are working to set up an unusual tour I think you will enjoy. I’m basing that on responses we’ve received in the past which was good feed-back from previous tours like the crawfish tour and a dairy tour. Hopefully the cricket farm tour will come to fruition.
As the year progresses and more things are confirmed, you’ll get updates (if you are signed up to receive notices from Web Master John Laninga) or you can check the web page periodically. But for now we know Lincoln Park (318-251-5156 must call to make your own reservations) is booked for September 21-leave on 27, 2019, with 20 sites reserved. They only have about 24 sites. They will let the reserved sites go about two weeks prior to the rally. The park is located on the banks of a small lake about a mile into the woods. The sites have recently been renovated with patio/fire-pits areas, and brick retaining walls and metal rails where needed. The sites are first-come-first-serve so you will not be given a site number when you make your reservations. When you arrive, you pick your site and pull into it. The heated and air-conditioned building is adequate, but the sites are beautiful!
The park has hills and is used as a national bicycle competition site but in our camping area it is usually a quiet and restful place, so come join us. Mark your calendar now and plan around the dates including future doctor appointments and family gatherings, ha. Come support your club! Linda Brian
