Rain and humidity accompanied the Traveling Supremes as they came to Rayne, LA for the annual Sponsors Rally. After joyful hello’s and hugs, the group gathered for a welcome dinner of chicken and sausage gumbo and a variety of cakes.
Friday’s rainy day didn’t prevent the group from making an interesting and informative visit to St. John’s Cathedral, the five century old Oak Tree, the Cathedral museum as well as the cemetery where the Lafayette founder, Jean Mouton is buried. Following this great tour, the group gathered at Vermillion Ville for a limitless seafood buffet lunch. In the afternoon the group traveled to the Alexander Mouton House Museum for a film and tour of the home and grounds. Accolades go to Marie Moreau for making the arrangements for a special day.
A tasty fish fry was prepared for the evening meal. Paul Rees used his expertise frying the fish and curly fries. Dave Petitjean, provided the group with amusing after dinner humor.
On Saturday, the group was greeted with a beautiful sunshiny day. Everyone had the opportunity to relax and enjoy the day in whatever way they wanted. A delicious meal of Pork Loin and all the trimmings was served for dinner, with bread pudding as dessert.
The business meeting was held after dinner. Reports were given by all officers present and the new officers were elected. Requests were made for future rally ideas and locations. It was also requested that members report their travels and travel plans to the webmaster and newsletter editor.
The card playing ladies spent each night of the rally in fun rivalry. It’s always enjoyable when the Traveling Supremes folks get together.
Special thanks to Gauthier RV, our club sponsors, for all the good food. Our hosts, David Reed and Henry Hauffe with the assistance of Lou Butaud and Kay Hauffe made the rally a big success. Their hard work is truly appreciated.
Traveling safely and supremely,
Sue and Joe Moore

Summary of the Executive Committee Meeting
Rayne, Louisiana
October 31, 2009
The Executive Committee voted that our club accept owners of non-Travel Supreme’s RV’s as members and a committee of three (3), Lou Butaud, Henry Hauffe, and David Reed, was appointed to determine the procedure for acceptance and report back to the committee by computer for approval and it passed.
The Executive Committee approved the request that Henry Hauffe made for his upcoming rally to do away with the $20 non-member fee for guests and it was approved for his rally only. He felt this would help generate more people attending the rally which will decrease the daily parking rate for everyone attending.
