SANDWICH
RALLY
SEABREEZE RV PARK
PORTLAND, TX
MARCH 18-25, 2007
Co-Hosts: Bob and Nancy Skinner
and Gene and Chris Fisher
We arrived at Portland, Sea
Breeze RV Park for our second in the Trilogy Rally Series!
We had a fantastic view of the Bay, and the wind kept the mesquites
away! The Rally room was excellent and we (as usual) ate several
fine meals furnished by our Hosts, Gene
& Chris Fisher; Bobby
& Nancy Skinner.
There were several group outings. The first
one was a tour of the USS Lexington, an aircraft
carrier that is moored in Corpus Christi. Those of us who went on
the tour really enjoyed it.
The
second tour was to the King Ranch in Kingsville,
just south of Corpus. It was also very enjoyable and informative.
Lots of Texas history!
There was a Shriner's Old Fiddler's
Festival also during the weekend. Marie, Burnel, Les &
Ida went to the Dance on Friday night and then returned for some
of the fiddler contests on Saturday.
There were also several times when groups
went out to eat. There are many fine restaurants in that area....lots
of good seafood! Sunday morning found us all feasting on Nancy's
famous KOLACHES and getting ready to move on down the road (and
across the ferry, for some of us) to Port Aransas and our last rally....SANDFEST.
These three rallies were definitely an adventure
for us....maybe a little too long for those in our group that still
have to go to work!!!! But, I think I can safely say everyone in
attendance had a fine time.
THANKS TO GENE & CHRIS, BOBBY
& NANCY FOR A JOB WELL DONE!!!! Ida
