Linda & I really enjoyed the rally at Rayne. We are so
pleased that the Gauthiers have decided to sponsor our club
and we hope their partnership with us will continue.
I am pleased to serve as 2nd VP of the club. We are looking
forward to a great year with big expectations of travel and
friendship. Our club is on a new path and we expect to continue
with old friends and and make many new ones.
Travel safely and supremely, Jack

Hi
everyone! It only took us 12 hours to get home from the New
Years rally. We stopped about 50 miles from the house
to let the dogs have a potty break and our truck died and
wouldn't start again. We had to call a wrecker to tow us in
to Corsicana to the Ford place. Our RV had to be towed too.
It turned out to be a bigger deal than the driver thought
and he had to call another unit out. About 6 hours after all
this started we got home. Boy, are we tired. Standing around
is hard work!!
We all had a good time at the New
Years rally. We all ate too much as usual but the food
was so good that we couldn't help ourselves. I've always said
that our club should write a cook book.
The sad part of the week was hearing of Connie's
passing. We will all miss her. She was always smiling and
never, never met a stranger. She loved her family with all
her heart. She loved Jesus with all her heart, too and I know
that I will see her in heaven when I get there. We will keep
her family and Lou in our prayers.
It's good to be home but we are looking forward to seeing
you next month at "It's
all about the beads".
Travel safely,
Nancy

News
Our New Year's Rally was again a great success,
THANKS TO ALL OUR MEMBERS & GUESTS who were able to be present.
We had some good laughs and traded gifts over and over. Even if
gifts are not opened certain packages seem to grab everyone's eye.
We
offered prayers and special memorable moments of Connie
Butaud upon learning of her passing away on Dec 30, 2008.
She will live on in our hearts. We also lift our prayers to Heaven
for Lou and Family, may they find strength and courage to go on
as we offer our condolences.
Please
be thinking about future rallies and where you would like to host
one. It would be good to have more on our calendar for 2009 and
also to start booking for 2010. When checking the website and find
that the deadline date has passed for a certain rally and you find
that you would be able to make this rally, please contact me and
I will be able to let you know if we can take on another unit. Again
Happy Trails to everyone in 2009!

Buddy
and I spent the summer at the West Des Moines KOA. It’s
25 miles west of Des Moines,Iowa. We arrived shortly before
the flooding in Iowa. Thank God we were on high ground and
very safe. The only thing we didn't like were the tornados,
heavy rains and very strong winds. We really enjoyed the people
here and the area has a lot to do and see. We visited John
Wayne's birthplace, the Madison County Covered Bridges, and
went to the Iowa State Fair.
We are leaving on September 14th and headed for Deadwood,
S.D. to meet Michele, Buddy's daughter, to spend a few days
visiting and sightseeing. After that we will gradually work
our way down South.
Looking forward to seeing everyone at the Sponsor's
Rally.
TRAVEL SAFELY,
Buddy
and Maria
